2020 Jeep Cherokee vs Toyota RAV4

When it comes to purchasing your next vehicle, you might be experiencing problems when it comes to which SUV you even want to purchase. To help you make this important decision, we here at Bud's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram are making sure that you have all of the information you need to make the right choice. To start off, we are narrowing down the segment to just the 2020 Jeep Cherokee and the 2020 Toyota RAV4. The Cherokee stands out, not only for its off-roading abilities, but for the technology, engine options, and overall styling that are hard to ignore. The RAV4 comes into 2020 with no leather-seating option, added Android Auto, a roomy interior, and only light off-roading abilities. Keep reading to learn which of these SUVs we recommend the most.

2020 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

As we mentioned briefly, the engine selection for the 2020 Cherokee makes an immediate impression, that is because all three of the available engines get a nine-speed automatic transmission and the option between FWD and AWD. The base engine here, producing 180 horsepower, is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder. Sitting in the middle of this lineup, creating 271 horsepower, is a 3.2-liter V6 engine. And finally, sitting at the top, producing 270 horsepower, is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, which really drives home the power of the Cherokee. There is no wrong decision to be made with this engine lineup.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Power & Handling

Unlike the Cherokee, which gives you three engine options to choose from, you only get one standard engine with the RAV4. This engine comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and is offered with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The engine itself is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, which is able to crank out around 184 pound-feet of torque and up to 203 horsepower. While these aren't the worst numbers, the lack of any other options is pretty lackluster.

2020 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

Even after looking at the great engine options, Jeep doesn't stop there. The trim lineup for this SUV is unparalleled, giving you the technology and comfort you need that makes every daily drive that much better. Some of the standard features here include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, heated mirrors, blind-spot monitoring, 17-inch wheels, and even rear cross-path detection. Give everything a bump with the Latitude Plus trim, which includes cloth and vinyl seating, push-button start, ParkSense rear park assist, an 8-way power driver's seat, and keyless entry. There are plenty more features where these came from!

2020 Toyota RAV4 Features & Design

There is also a trim lineup offered with the RAV4, including a few different options with their own feature lineup. Some of the standard features here include a seven-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. Throughout the rest of the lineup you'll find heated side mirrors, push-button start, active grille shutters, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power moonroof, and LED fog lights.
