What powertrain options fuel the Wrangler's off-road capability?

Jeep offers three different engine options with the Wrangler, each providing a solid power output to supply the SUV with strong performance ratings. Coming standard with each Wrangler model is the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that can produce up to 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque potential. This engine comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission that puts you further in control of the Wrangler's shifting, or with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission that is offered standard with each other engine. If you are looking for some improved fuel economy and torque, Jeep also offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that can push out an enhanced 295 lb-ft of torque and combined fuel economy rating of 23 mpg. Thanks to popular demand, Jeep is also bringing in a Wrangler first-ever 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine into the lineup, which pushes out an impressive 480 lb-ft of torque.

How are the features spread between the trim models?

Each Wrangler takes on its iconic look that has stood the test of time, toting the classic circular headlamps, box cabin shape with removable doors and fold down top. The Wrangler comes outfitted in one of four different trim models and two body configurations (two-door or four-door). The base trim model of the Wrangler is the Sport trim, which brings in a base set of features meant to give a starting point for each other model. The Wrangler Sport notably includes features such as fog lamps, underbody skid plates to protect vital systems while off-roading, 17-inch wheels with all-season tires, removable floor carpeting and mats, LED interior ambient lighting, cruise control, and a Uconnect 3 multimedia system with eight speakers. The Sport S is the second trim level and continues to round out the feature list bringing in powered windows, automatic headlights, tinted rear windows, and more. The Sahara trim is offered on the four-door cabin variant only, and adds on even more features such as side steps for easier access, larger 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, premium cloth interior upholstery set, a handy 115-volt power outlet, and an enhanced Unconnect 4 system with smartphone integration housed on a larger 7-inch touchscreen display. The Wrangler Rubicon is the highest offered trim model, taking all of the comfort and convenience-based features found with the Sahara and adding in a number of off-road oriented features. Some key aspects of the Rubicon that make it the best off-road model include a Tru-Lok front and rear electronic remote locking differentials, a sway bar disconnect, Jeep's Rock-Trac shift-on-the-fly transfer case, and additional rock rails to help further protect vital underbody systems while off-roading.

What are some of the key safety features brought in with the Wrangler?

The Wrangler is one of the safest SUVs out there, helping give driver's confidence during routine on-road driving and while venturing off-road. This starts off with Jeep's advanced multistage front airbag system that is also supplemented with a multitude of additional airbags worked in throughout the rest of the cabin. We also see other great safety features brought in each model such as tire-pressure monitoring, electronic stability control with roll mitigation and traction control support, hill-start assist, a rearview camera with dynamic gridlines, and more. Jeep also offers a number of other safety features and driver aids with the Wrangler, such as blind-spot monitoring, rear park assist, hill-descent control, and a vehicle theft alarm.
