2021 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

There are three engines powering the Cherokee. The base engine is a 2.4L inline-4 that generates 180 hp and 171 pound-feet of torque. There are two additional engines offered for the upper trims. The first is a 3.2L V6 that generates 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque and the second is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. All three engines offer both FWD and 4WD configurations and come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that provides smooth shift changes time after time.

Each Subaru Forester trim level is powered by the same engine in the 2021 model year. This 2.5L Boxer flat-4 engine pumps out 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. Subaru pairs this engine with a continuously variable transmission, also known as a CVT, that simulates the feel of a 7-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles. Each trim comes standard with all-wheel drive.
