Engine and Powertrain

The Gladiator is meticulously crafted to provide an off-roading experience unlike any other! Whether you choose the 3.6L V6 engine or the 3.0L diesel engine V6, which is available on the Sport, Overland, and Rubicon trims, 4x4, or full-time 4WD your Gladiator will meet every need on your checklist. The standard 3.6L engine produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, while the diesel engine pushes out 260 horsepower and a class-leading 442 lb-ft of torque. Each engine is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission while an 8-speed automatic is also available.

What Are Some Interior and Exterior Features?

On the Jeep family tree, the Gladiator is the Wrangler's closest sibling. Looking directly at the Gladiator, it's hard to distinguish between the two off-road legends. Each with the instantly recognizable seven-slot grille between round headlights, boasting up to 11 inches of ground clearance and a wide, bulldog-like stance. Of course, the biggest and almost only difference between these siblings is the five-foot truck bed behind the Gladiator's cab. Inside is also very similar to the Wrangler with the circular vents and gauges. Some other interior features include drain plugs for easy cleaning after a day on the trails, a 5, 7, or 8.4-inch touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity, an optional removable Bluetooth speaker, and available all-weather floormats.

2021 Jeep Gladiator Capability

Jeep prides itself on providing SUVs and now a truck that earns the prized Trail Rated badge. Every Gladiator wears this badge meaning no matter what trim level you purchase; you're getting Jeeps legendary off-road capabilities. Up to 11 inches of ground clearance helps get you over even the most challenging terrain, while 30 inches of water fording gets you across streams in your path. Precision steering and uncompromised traction help keep the vehicle moving forward on any terrain while high levels of suspension articulation help to keep all four wheels on the ground to stay engaged and stable.
