2022 Grand Wagoneer at Bud's Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep

For almost a decade, the Grand Wagoneer dominated as the most capable luxury vehicle in the full-size SUV class. The Grand Wagoneer was the first vehicle in the world to pair a four-wheel-drive system with an automatic transmission, the highest towing capacity in the industry as well as luxury features like air conditioning, leather upholstery, AM/FM/CB radio, wood-grain exterior trim, sound insulation, and more. This was a combination of features that had never been seen before. After a 30-year hiatus, the Grand Wagoneer is returning the same way it came into the world in 1984; as the most comfortable and capable vehicle in its class! With a powerful V8 engine, three available 4WD systems, and an endless list of comfort and convenience features, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer will certainly reclaim its title as the "gold standard of the SUV market"! What Design Features Does the 2022 Grand Wagoneer Have?

For years, the Grand Wagoneer was a symbol of American craftsmanship and ingenuity, and to this day, Jeep holds these values very close. This is why, when planning the 2022 Grand Wagoneer, the designers wanted to make it capture those same values. The Grand Wagoneer's seven-slot grille has been Jeep's staple for longer than some might remember, and, like the original, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer's grille will be leaning forward in an aggressive yet elegant shape. The windows surrounding the whole cabin provide a view of the world outside that few others can accomplish, much like the original. The classic two-spoke steering wheel captures the perfect mixture of old-school Jeep materials with a modern twist that defines the 2022 Grand Wagoneer. The last nod at the Grand Wagoneer of old is the wood trim that is carefully placed throughout the 2022 Grand Wagoneer's dashboard. Designers chose Satin American Walnut wood because of its elegance and durability. This blends perfectly with the use of metal and leather to extenuate that classic yet modern feel. All Grand Wagoneer trims come standard with Nappa leather-trimmed first, second, and third-row seats. The front seats are heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable in 24 different ways. The front seats on higher trim levels are equipped with relaxing massagers. Second-row passengers are also treated to heated seats with class-leading space. The 2022 Grand Wagoneer will have class-leading passenger volume and cargo volume behind the third row.

Can You Talk About the 2022 Grand Wagoneer's Technology?

As if the exterior and interior design wasn't impressive enough, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer will also be home to some of the most advanced technology in the world. Jeep's Uconnect 5 software is the fastest and most futuristic Uconnect system ever. It is equipped with a fully customizable home screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa "home-to-car" integration, 4G LTE WiFi for up to eight devices, access to thousands of apps, movies and TV shows, a Uconnect mobile app, and much more. The Uconnect system can memorize up to five user profiles. Drivers can set these profiles up so that the Grand Wagoneer will automatically adjust the music preferences, seat position, climate control, mirror position, and more to provide the most comfortable driving experience for all the drivers in your family. The Uconnect technology is displayed on an easy-to-use 12-inch touchscreen display on the center console. Below that is a 10.25-inch touchscreen for all climate controls, from the four-zone climate control to the seat warmers. Second-row passengers can enjoy a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen on both front seatbacks as well as a climate control display between the two captain's chairs. Just a few of the advanced safety features include full-speed collision mitigation, automated parking assistance, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning with active lane management, blindspot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, and over 100 more!

What Can You Tell Me About the Grand Wagoneer's Capability?

As we said before, the original Wagoneer was the pinnacle of capability in its original model year. As with many other details of the 2022 Wagoneer, it will return the same way! Under the hood of the 2022 Grand Wagoneer will be a 6.4L V8 engine rated for 471 horsepower, 455 lb-ft of torque, and up to 10,000lbs of towing capacity when properly equipped. The V8 engine is linked to a robust TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. That is just the beginning of the Grand Wagoneer's capability. Jeep has been perfecting the art of 4x4 capability over the course of their 80-year history, and the Grand Wagoneer shows the fruits of Jeep's labor with three of their best 4x4 systems. Quadra-Trac I is the first option. This is a full-time 4x4 system that defaults to 4WD and pairs to a network of sensors that can sense a loss of traction. When wheel slip is detected, the single-speed transfer case redistributes up to 100% of available torque to the wheels with the most traction. Quadra-Trac II comes next with a two-speed transfer case for more immediate torque distribution. The last available 4x4 system is Quadra-Drive II with an Electronic Limited Slip Rear Differential. This acts similarly to Quadra-Trac II but can predict a loss of traction by sensing wheel spin when the Grand Wagoneer moves from a stop. The limited-slip rear differential coordinates with the transfer case to limit or even prevent slippage. All 4x4 systems come with Jeep's Selec-Terrain Traction Management. This allows drivers to use a rotary knob to choose between Auto, Snow, Sport, Rock, and Sand/Mud modes for maximum traction on a variety of road conditions. The last contributing system that gives the Grand Wagoneer its unbeatable capability is Quadra-Lift Air Suspension. This has a Normal Ride Height of eight inches but can go as low as 6.4 inches in Park mode or as high as 10 inches in Off-Road 2. Also included are Off-Road 1 and Aero modes.
